Both can not be boiled, sour cream has a nicer less shape flavour, this trash about low fat is a bunch of malarkey, I use a full fat yogurt, over 5-7% BF as it does not curdle

In my experience it doesn't make any difference. I prefer yogurt because I like the flavor and it is low fat.
