I am making what is called African Peanut Soup. The ingredients come from America. Why?

There are peanuts, tomatoes, rice and peppers. All of which are not native to Africa.

    Peanuts are African....they came to the US via Africa according to what I have read.

    thats what international trade is all about.

    Many foods that originated in South America traveled to Europe and beyond before finding their way back to our continent and then to the US.
