Some nintendo ds Pokemon questions?

Sorry, I'm not really smart when it comes to Pokémon. But I have some questions regarding the Nintendo ds (not 3ds) pokemon games.

1. If possible, can you list all pokemon games for the Nintendo ds?

2. Is there an original pokemon game?

3. Which came first, the anime, the pokemon cards, or the game?

4. Which Nintendo ds pokemon game do you recommend getting for someone who is new to pokemon

Thank you

    Hello! :)

    1. Sure :)

    -Generation 3-

    • Pokémon Ranger

    • Pokémon Trozei / Pokémon Link

    -Generation 4-

    • Pokémon Diamond

    • Pokémon Pearl

    • Pokémon Platinum

    • Pokémon HeartGold

    • Pokémon SoulSilver

    • Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team

    • Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time & Darkness

    • Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky

    • Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia

    • Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs

    • Pokémon Dash

    -Generation 5-

    • Pokémon Black

    • Pokémon White

    • Pokémon Black 2

    • Pokémon White 2

    • Pokémon Conquest

    • Super Pokémon Rumble

    • Pokémon X and Pokémon Y (New: releases on 12th October 2013)

    2. The very first Pokémon games in Japan (where Pokémon originated from) were Pokémon Red & Green versions on the GameBoy. Then, Pokémon Blue was released - pretty much the same as Green but with improved sounds and graphics. English versions of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue were then created and released to the rest of the world - but Green remains Japanese-only. I guess you could consider these the "original" Pokémon games. :)

    3. In Japan, the Pokémon games (Red and Green) were released before any other sort of Pokémon media. Then, the trading card game was developed. Then, anime and manga series were created based off of these Pokémon games - after the Pokémon series became such a big hit in Japan, the games, cards, and the cartoon were released overseas. :D

    4. Probably one of the newer Pokémon games. In fact, on October 12th, 2013, two new Pokémon games are being released - named Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, respectively. They are for the Nintendo 3DS console. If you have a 3DS, I'd recommend pre-ordering X or Y, they look really cool so far and have very, very good 3D graphics. If you do not own a 3DS, try Black, White, Black 2 or White 2. The older games are good fun, too, though. :)

Hope this helped you out - have fun! :)

    Q. If possible, can you list all pokemon games for the Nintendo ds?

    A. Gen IV: Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, SoulSilver, Gen V: Black, White, Black 2, White 2

    Q. Is there an original pokemon game?

    A. The original Pokemon games in Japan were Red and Green. In America, it was Red and Blue.

    Q. Which came first, the anime, the pokemon cards, or the game?

    A. The Pokemon games were released first.

    Q. Which Nintendo ds pokemon game do you recommend getting for someone who is new to pokemon?

    A. I don't think it really matters. I played and beat Pokemon SoulSilver. I enjoyed it a lot. Black and White are what a lot of new gamers use because it is a fresh start to Pokemon, rather than taking lots of material from the old games.

Hope this helps, and I hope you will like Pokemon as much as I do! :)

1 - Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, SoulSilver, Black, White, Black 2, White 2, are the main series pokemon games.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team Blue, PMD 2: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky, Pokemon Trozei/Link, Pokemon Dash and Pokemon Conquest, for spin-off titles.

2 - Pokemon Red and Green were the original titles, for the original Japanese release. The west got them as Pokemon Red and Blue.

3 - The game came first, 1996. then the TCG later in the year, and then the anime in 1997.

4 - Tough question. I'd say SoulSilver or Heartgold first.
