Motorcycles as a girl and school?

ok, 1. I'm not one of those girls who likes to ride for the attention. so don't get the wrong idea.

2. I want to eventually ride a motorcycle to school but I don't want to walk to my locker with my gear on and stuff and it won't fit anyway. so is it safe to leave my helmet on the bike? I live in a pretty wealthy town with a bunch of snobs and not enough normal people.

3) also I am slowly learning how to keep up with a motorcycle and change the oil and check tire pressure and all that. But I'm only 15 and I live in NJ so i want to know the earliest I can get my license. I can ride, just not legally and I hate waiting. Also, is there anyone who lives in Northern New Jersey that rides and isn't creepily out of my age zone that I could txt or talk to about motorcycle stuff?

Get a cycle that fits and have locking tail trunk and /or saddle bags. My little trainer has a tail trunk that can hold students helmet, raincoat, lunch bag and some other stuff. Several scooters on campus have the big tail trunks same size as big Harley, I have a Harley tail trunk on my Goldwing. Honda Rebel of brothers had saddlebags about like a sportster- boots, raincoat and half helmet fit in them with room to spare. The current R models and like the Kaw Ninja don't have easy to fit large trunks or saddle bags- so look for a 'cruiser' model that has the minimal fairing and mounting access for tail trunk and bags, no swept up muffler to interfere

    1. I'm a girl. I don't give a damn what people think about what I'm riding.

    2. I live in a low crime area, and I leave my stuff on the bike when I go to the store. But I would NEVER leave my stuff on the bike at a high school, cz kids do stupid thing for fun. Like fill your helmet with shaving cream. There is a helmet lock on the bike, that you put the strap through. but i repeat : stupid .. fun.. cutting the strap.

Pretty sure that a classroom near the parking area would let you stash it in that room, but make sure there's a cabinet so that bored students don't see it and think ...HEY, wouldn't it be FUN if...

    3. Yeah, do your own maintenance. Dealers in my area charge $150 !!!! yes, 100 + 50 bucks for an oil change. Where you could get one for your car at walmart for 29.99.

try womenridersnow. com (and on facebook), womenonwheels, twowheeledfemales. Even the oldest womens motorcycle group, Motor Maids, includes an 80 year old who still rides, and did from the 30's. Some old people know stuff.

B> google women+motorcycles, and i bet you'll find some in your area.

Ps. There's a women's conference every 2 years. I went a few years back, my friends and family tried to talk me out of it "It's gonna be girl gangs! It's gonna be biker chics! It's gonna be all lesbians!"

Ha, they were all wrong, it's was just normal women like me who ride! So : Be who you are!

Keep the shiny side up, girl.

#1 Not every female is a T-Mobile girl.

#2 ASK at the office or your homeroom teacher to store your gear there, it's okay until you want to skip school. Your "FRIENDS" aren't the ones who will steal your helmet. Many Scooters and the Honda Adventure bike (NTX?) have helmet storage.

#3 motorcycle maintenance is just maintenance, it will work on your car, bicycle, boat or plane.

The New Jersey state webpage will have the specifics.

#3a You will want someone out of your age range to chat with, otherwise, you chat with boys who have little more experience than you, OK, if you don't meet ftf. Using GOOD text precautions.

    NEVER too early to learn.
