Story ideas................??

I want to write a story that has something to do with a girl (not a love story or some cheesy cliche high school stories) however, i can't think of an idea :(

Can you please help me come up with an idea for the story? Thank you :) x

{ I'll be writing the story on wattpad, so, if you'd like me to give you credit for the idea, include your username/name and i promise i will write it in the discription x)

Update:

ALSO, please don't leave stupid answers like "just think of something yourself!" there's a reason i asked this question, and it's because i've been thinking for weeks and still cannot think of an idea, and i'm just looking for help :) thank you

Update 2:

will you people shut the f*ck up with your "think of something yourself!!1!!1111!!!!111!!" bullshit like seriously i'm deleting your answer anyway so yeah haha

Update 3:

like seriously if you can't answer the god damn question, keep your mouth shut. it's that simple.

Update 4:

"you would make the effort to think of what to write about."

oh okay so ive been trying to come up with a f*cking story idea for over a month now because im putting no effort in oh ok hahaha dumb ***

The reason people here tell you to think of your own story idea is because if you do, you are more likely to actually write the story. You need passion and drive to write. That comes from finding a story or a character that you love soooooo much that you need to get their story out. It's self-motivation.

If you can't think of a story, then think of a character. Figure out who your main character is. Not just what they look like, but their personality. Their fears (including the ones they won't admit to themselves), their dreams, their hopes, their desires, their negative points, their secrets, their interests, their hobbies. Write a family history for them (just a page long).

If you know every single thing there is to know about your character, story ideas will trickle in. She likes basketball? Maybe she wants to try out for the team. But wait, she broke her leg when she was seven and it didn't heal properly. So she can't really keep up with the team. Hang on, though, she's always been tenacious and stubborn, so she won't give up her dream. But she never knows when to give up, and this is a case when she really should give up. But, she can't let go of her dream, because if she does, she won't be able to talk to her dad about being on the basketball team. They haven't spoken in years since her mother died of cancer..... Slowly, you will eke out a plot this way.

You might also try to just stop thinking about an idea. Focus your attention elsewhere. Let you brain rest. Then tackle the problem with fresh eyes. Try to focus on writing small scenes, rather than an entire novel. You might get further if you write several one page one-shots. It'll get you in the habit of writing, and when you do find your novel idea, you will be ready.

    Good luck!

Well, what I do is I keep a dream Journal and use that for inspiration... you can have the weirdest ideas in your subconscience and you are much more abstract that way. It's hard to come up with a non-cliché idea by asking other people, so this way, you draw the ideas from yourself and its personal to you. The great thing about writing is that you can incorporate personal beliefs or issues in your story. I really don't know you personally so I can't really give you good, specific book ideas that would work for you and your writing style without being cliché. Have fun with it and experiment a little. Good Luck.

A girl named Jessica lives in a small town. All seemed normal until September 23, 1994 when her only parent, her mom, died of an unknown cause when Jessica was only 5. Ten years later, Jessica is a typical girl living with her uncle John and his girlfriend Hannah when the case is reopened for investigation.

    "just think of something yourself!"

Thanks I just had to cut and paste that.

Don't act surprised. You say you want to write a story. IF that was true, you would make the effort to think of what to write about.
