Teachers, what's the worst excuse a student has given for missing work?
I've just reached my favorite part of every school term, the day when the first paper is due and the excuses start rolling in. My favorites so far?
"I found a kitten three weeks ago."
"My roommate had a headache."
"I had a cold."
"I forgot the paper was due."
"I wasn't done, so I was just going to turn it in next week."
What about you, teachers? Best excuses you've had?

I'm a student, but my metal shop teacher always made us do this ridiculous OSHA certification program when he took days off to hunt. Here's some of the excuses I gave him when I decided to actually learn metalworking (I'm not going into that field, a cert is a waste of time)
1. Sir, you know I have the attention span of a ground squirrel.
2. I was having feminine problems (I'm a man)
3. Ninja's sir...
4 sir, I've told you I can't read.
5. Jordan ate my mouse. (Jordan of course enthusiastically backed me up.)
6. The bakery was giving out free kolaches. (True, actually)
7. It's classified.
As well as a host of others that I won't list cause I'm on a phone.

I give warning when it's due and allow for extensions with no excuse necessary, then if it's not handed in I just give zero.
