If Alexander Povetkin beats Wladimir Klitschko tonight, what would that do for his legacy?

Considering all that Povetkin has done in his boxing career so far, a potential win tonight would make him one of the most decorated and accomplished heavyweight boxers ever.

He would add the lineal heavyweight championship of the World to his Olympic gold, amateur World championship and 2 amateur European championships and he would have won literally every major title he could win in this sport.

So, what would you think of his legacy and where would you put him on the ATG heavyweight list in that case?

It would be huge to beat the lineal HW champ who weights 15 pounds heavier. Povetkin is undefeated and is a decorated amateur...that being said... I can not see him beating Wladimir.

Honestly, I simply think it would just be the start of his "legacy", assuming he keeps winning.

Povetkin is a solid fighter, and most definitely one of the best HW's in this weak division.

He hasn't done anything in his career except have some solid wins and hold on to a bullsH*t belt (one that really belongs to Wlad) the WBA basically just handed to him without good reason.

Most definitely a huge win, and would that would sky rocket him in terms of his resume/popularity. I don't see it happening at all, but Wlad is by far the best HW since Lennox and has dominated for years, so to beat Wladimir would be a major accomplishment.

No he wouldn't be an ATG, he'd need to successfully defend it for a long time and dominate his division to become an ATG.
