How to modify an android application?

I want to change the icon on my phone, I hope that there was any solution on that problem.

    In Eclipse or AIDE, go into res/drawable-whatever and put the icon you want to use there. Hope this was what you were looking for :) EDIT: If it is not yours, decompile it.

    either you use some app that modifies the looks/theme of your phone or if you want to do it manually you need to root your android phone.
