Why cant Windows Media Player play the video I edited in Vegas Pro?

I'm pretty new to using Sony Vegas Pro 12, I just cut out some audio and replaced it with different audio but I don't know why Windows media player wont play it? Anyone know how to fix this?

What does Sony Vegas save the file as? Windows media player is compatible with the following formats: .asf, .asx, .avi, .wav, .wma, .wax, .wm, .wmv, .wvx

If it gets saved as none of those, you can find a free converter to change the format. However, you could also get VLC media player, for free, it can play pretty much any format of video/audio there is, it's a really cool program.

    Hope I helped :)
