How can I get my old yahoo mail format back? I absolutely hate the new format that you forced upon me!!!!?

Try this:

Click the gear in the upper right corner.

Click on Settings.

Click on Viewing email.

Go down to Mail version and choose "Basic."

Click the Save button.

That will refresh your mail so it uses a basic format. If you ever want the newer format again, click "Switch to the newest Yahoo! Mail" at the top of the screen.

Master 1 2 3 is right! It looks a bit different still but it's similar to the old format. :D Because the main thing that bothers me about the new Yahoo is that the replying to emails was difficult, saving drafts, etc., and viewing it as Basic at least changes how you can reply to emails which I'm happy with..

I do not like the new changes at all. I would like to change back to the old version. The changes were made without notice and/or consent. After much difficult searching, I finally found this sub-link and clicked on the further sub-link for "I want to change back to previous version" and get only the canned answer: "Unfortunately, it is not possible to switch to the previous design of Yahoo! Mail." The new version does not allow me to sort and search mail as quickly or easily as the old version. It is dramatically more difficult to sort and find email messages - especially in a rapid manner. This takes from me my most precious asset - TIME. This new version COSTS me TIME and reduces my efficiency and effectivity. Please give me back the old version ASAP. It was FAR better. The longer this takes, the more damage you do. Do not delay.

Thank you "Master". Your solution worked. I too hate the new format. I am a software developer and used to new changes in formats and views etc but I really do hate the new structure for the emails. Works fine for sms text messages on mobile phones but not on my email which I want to keep organised in "my" way, not in conversation format.

The new format is just stupid. I can't even read an entire email message with this really stupid format. If at all possible I'll find a new place to get my messages.

I totally agree! What a complete mess, you loose overview. Try to answer by pushing REPLY to sender and it automatically sends a message to the last sender even when you open the message of someone else in this email correspondence. It's terrible!!!

You can't get back to the old format and to be honest I doubt that Y! will offer the option given the fiasco that happened with Classic mail (ie they offered the option then and a lot of people reverted. When it came time to close Classic mail there was an even bigger uproar).

So now you have an option to revert to "Basic" mail, but this is just a stripped down version of the new mail and nothing like the old version http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=content&id=SLN...

Personally I've found that by disabling one setting (conversations) then the familiarity increased and it's been a lot easier to use (removes grouping of mails in folders & the inbox, removes the hidden threading in mail conversations etc). Thank you. I also HATE the new yahoo email. I have spent weeks- and countless frustrating hours- trying to figure it out. Ready to switch providers at this point.

I hate the new version. I hit "Reply" and noticed that the address it was going to was an address that I had forwarded the original e-mail to. wth? That person hadn't sent me anything....how would I be "replying" to them. stoooooopid Yahoo.

BINGO! (Thank you, Master!) Now THERE'S the way Yahoo should have answered the question when it was asked on THEIR "Help" screens. Buncha morons working at yahoo, it seems -- lazily "delegating" so-called "answers" to some lame computer program. Sheesh!
