Who Did The NY Yankees Get When They Gave Up Their 2009 1st round Draft Pick To The LA Angels?

The Angels used that pick to draft Mike Trout.

I am trying to find out what they got for a potential HoFer slip through their fingers

Tex. But if you look at the draft results, the Angels had 2 comp picks in a row. Pick #24 was from the Mets (KRod) and #25 from The Yankees (Tex). The Angels picked Randall Grichuk 24th and Trout 25th. Now imagine if the Angels re-signed Tiexiera and The Yankees had kept the 25th pick. You would think that The Yankees would have drafted Trout, right? Well that depends on what the Angels would have done with the 24th pick? Would they still have picked Grichuk? Or would they have used it for Trout?

    Texiera.

But there is nothing that says the Yankees would have used that pick to draft Trout. Not every 1st round pick becomes a potential or actual HOFer.

Tex is the correct answer. But did you know? They also gave up a current hall of famer in the 1981 amateur draft round 2? can you name him?
