How nervy is it to ask for a ride this early?

Okay, I got invited along with three other guys from my school to this choral music festival at UMass Amherst. I would LOVE to go to this. However, here's the problem: I need to be at my school (5 minutes away) by 5:45 am. My mom doesn't want to wake up this early to drive me, and I don't have a car. I'm pretty good friends with one of the other guys and pretty friendly with another, so a ride wouldn't normally be a problem. It's just, at 5:45, I hate to ask someone's parent to make an extra stop so early. Also, the van we rented isn't coming back to the school, which would mean I'd have to tag along with someone else for the 2 and a half hour drive back from UMass at 830 pm (my family doesn't want to drive to Amherst to see the show/pick me up).

I don't know what to do. I want to go so bad! But would asking for these rides by nervy? I don't want to tick off my friends' parents.

Money isn't the problem here. I can handle gas money- good idea.

I don't really blame her. A 5:45 am ride for something that's nonessential, whether she's my mother or not, is something that is completely reasonable to turn down. That's why I'm really leaning towards not going...

    You could tell your friends that your mom is unable to drive you, and see if they offer you a ride. If so offer to pay gas money, and maybe ask ask you mother for it if you think she has it.

    what do u mean your mother doesn't want to drive u to school? dear god u have a lousy mother. this is why parents re for - help u when u need them. tell her she MUST drive u to school at 5.45. the ride back u can ask from your friends as u might propose to reimburse them for gasoline expenses

    Have them record parts of it for you. But sometimes you have to decide between what

    you would like to do and what you really need to do this is really a no brainer.

    Don't go the music festival, unless you have a definite ride back home that night.
