Should I stay away from this girl i like?

This girl I like is sending mixed messages. She'll talk and act nice to me at work but she takes a while to reply to my texts. Also she compliment me on things like you're so strong and stuff,she even gave me her phone number. I didn't ask for it. Anyway,she invited me to church one time and i din't go because I couldn't. And recently I over heard her talking to a co worker about how her parents like this guy,I didn't quite hear it clearly. Anyway when we were both on break,she was on the phone with someone and didn't really say hi or anything. I do text her everyday but not too much. I've never had a gf so I'm bad at this kind of stuff. Help me out,I feel like I should just totally back off and start staying away from her. I like her and I think she likes me still but if she has a bf,then I'll give it up entirely and stay away. I won't even text her.
