With no job the only housing you would qualify for, unless you are disabled, would be the homeless shelters. The Salvation Army can direct you to the nearest one, both charity ones and tax payer ones.

Go to your local city or county housing authority and apply for one of the subsidized housing programs. Apply for as many as you can, because most of them will have a wait list or some might be closed. Also go on to HUD website and look for low income apartments in your area. These are privately owned but get funding through HUD. Also try calling 211 and see what resources that might be available. Also check into a women's shelter, not sure about your area but my area, if your in a homeless shelter you get bumped to the front of waiting lists for subsidized housing and the shelters have resources to help with training programs to get a trade or education to help you get financially stable. Hope this helps and good luck!

Any help that is available could take years to get. Most programs have very long wait lists. Call your local housing department for more info.
