Peoples tastes are different also, Cafe's often make coffee one of their specialties were high many high end restaurants are known for their food and not their coffee. Wants you get a la marzocco machine and high grade beans it is hard to drink coffee at most establishments.

The big boys are over rated. Every year Truckers Magazine takes a poll from the United States and Canada. And the truck drivers from each Nation ALWAYS choose McDonalds as the freshest, best tasting coffee. And for a dollar!

Because most people are mistaken about good coffee these days. A lot of that fancy grind is terrible, but it's popular with the "jet set", just like micro-brew beer. Regular Folgers is the best tasting, strongest coffee because it's raised in Columbia high in the mountains.

Because the high end restaurants do not make enough money off of coffee.
