Has anyone else read the whole ACA?
Everyone says that the parts of the law found by Betsy McCaughey and put in her book
"Beating Obamacare: Your Handbook for Surviving the New Health Care Law" are not true, but I cannot find anyone else who has read more than I have.
Marduk, you have absolutely not one piece of evidence for those vile accusations. The ACA may have a few things in common with Romneycare and they may have taken a few pages from the Heritage foundation, but if you started to read it, you would see many evil additions that are designed to reduce the quality of care of minorities and seniors and women. You would see lots of new taxes, some of which have no bearing on healthcare. You see new ways for the government to spy on us. And new powers granted to the IRS that has already shown a desire to punish people who disagree with their politics. And the death of people with serious illnesses is the only way this act is designed to save you money.
The Republicans proposed healthcare reform under Bush but it was shot down by Democrats. Under Pelosi\Obama\Reid they offered a modified plan from the Bush one and it was not even considered because the dems did not need any Rep votes. The Dems want govt healthcare and so they have stopped every plan they could until they got theirs.

Not to worry, I guarantee you there are LOTS of people who have read it by now. Many had not read the whole thing before voting on it, but it has been gone over with a fine-toothed comb by virtually every healthcare lobbyist in DC, by every company that provides health insurance, by Democrats looking to defend it and by Republicans looking for faults and loopholes.
Republicans have repeatedly said it's a bad law that will bankrupt the country and make things worse, but they still have not offered an alternative besides going back to the way things were, which was already broken. And why have they not offered an alternative? Because it was originally a Republican plan, approved by the Heritage Foundation and implemented by Mitt Romney when he was governor of Massachusetts. The Democrats originally wanted a single-payer option, but they were willing to compromise to get something that the Republicans would buy into. But the Republicans' political motivations prevented them from voting for THEIR OWN IDEA.
After seeing how partisan Obama's opponents acted in 2009, 2010 and 2012, he refused to negotiate in 2013. And the Republicans whined about that, but it was their own fault.
And that's the truth that you'll never hear on Fox News, but that's what really happened.
EDIT: What the ACA will do is allow people to do something they have not been able to do before; shop for their own healthcare. How would you like it if you had no choice about where you buy gas, you were locked in to one station, no matter how much it charged, and if you stopped going there, you couldn't get gas ANYWHERE? How would you like it if you could be charged ten times as much for a haircut in one place as you could for the same haircut in a different place, but they don't tell you what the charge is until after you've gotten the haircut? That's what healthcare was like before -- you can't exactly ask how much a hospital charges for a heart attack when you're arriving in an ambulance -- but introducing competiton for patients will stabilize pricing across the board and give people access to preventative care that will prevent the ambulance visit in the first place.

I've read it. Betsy McCaughey makes things up. If you have specifics, I can address them, but saying women are losing quality of care is wrong. Yes, there are new taxes. No, there are not new ways for the government to spy on us. Death is not how this system works, preventive care, standards, and an increased pool of the insured is. Have specifics? Email and we can discuss.

The pages of Obamacare if stacked on the floor reaches to
seven feet in heighth. Now how many people could have read
all those pages of "the ugly truth"? Even Obama and Pelosi
haven't read them. Hey, who wrote all this up, anyway?
Anybody know? Has the Media ever asked Jay Carney or
Obama this question?

Don't care. The only thing threatening this country are the dopes who want to shut it down cause the prez is black. And OBamacare is Romneycare which was blueprinted by the HERITAGE FOUNDATION which is conservative think tank. So basically the way far right doesn't care for the far right and moderate right is socialist.

anyone can go to loc.gov and read the whole thing . the ACA will save the taxpayer money . the only people who hate it are the crooked doctors and greedy insurance companies that will not be able to scam the system as bad as they are now . the insurance companies will be required to spend at least 80 % of our premiums on actual health care for us instead of pocketing it all . oh the horror !

I tried---once. But, food is fairly expensive. And, reading about Obama care was making me nauseated.
