solve this equation with correct # of sig. figs?

[(2.97×10^6)÷52.718]+138.88

the answer i keep getting is 56476.37, but apparently this is wrong, help please!

    please don't use that divide sign, it looks like a plus. Use / instead.

    Least significant number is the 2.97, so the answer should have 3 sign. digits only.

    2.97×10^6 / 52.718 = 56337 (3 sign. digits is all that is needed, but I'm carrying 2 extra until the final answer. If you don't you will get errors in the last digit)

    56337 + 138.88 = 56476 (again 5 sign digits, more than needed)

    Now round to 3 digits

    56500
