There are very good people here and there are very stupid selfish people too. It all depends, for the most part, there are nicer people down south than in the north part of the us. But the people vary anywhere you go.

From personal experience, when you get to know a people they are in general kind and good hearted. I found that Russians are very friendly when I visited that country over a decade ago, but as Tourists in Thailand they left a lot to be desired. I think that is the differentiation for a people, whether or not they are Locals or Tourists.
Americans have been seen as they are as Tourists, very rude and arrogant...but as Locals they are mostly kind and open people. Of course, any large city brings out the worst in any people because a large city is a large city no matter where you go. The scenery may change, but the crowds and lines are the same.

Ooooo! I live with them for at least half the year!
Most of them are very nice and just want you to like them. The ideas about proper manners here are very different though, and not always in a good way. Just remember that if they're very loud or talk a lot, they're not usually trying to force themselves on you, they're just very open about things most other people do not find polite conversation - and they broadcast when they speak.
There will be rude ones, of course. There are rude people everywhere. Do not mistake them just being Americans for rudeness, though. It takes a while to learn the difference, but overall, as individual people, they're actually quite pleasant, just as most people are when you travel abroad. They'll probably be very interested in you if they know you come from another nation and ask questions that you'll think "What on earth?" but they honestly don't know. I just smile and answer them politely, gently correcting any misconceptions they may have in the process.

Usually Americans are very friendly, especially to people who are British or Canadian. We are very social and open about how we feel. (:
~To people who are saying we are rude/spoiled, yes their may be some that are rude/spoiled but were not all that way. Don't let a few spoiled Americans make you think were ALL that way. Thank you.

well you cant say that! everyone is different just because your american does not mean your bad or good. you can't be prejudice against others. that's why always stay open and find out what other are like . if everyone did that then it would another step to world peace so start with yourself then continue onward. TAKE YOUR CHANCES!

there are those are kind, those who are rude, and all the in between. But in general on the street you will run into many people who are rude when it comes to things like driving or coming into close proximity with eachother.

Depends who you speak to, just like any other place. Some are very nice, and others, you don't even want to say hi to
