Should number plates be issued for use with bicycles so as to allow reports of unruly cyclists?

    Yes they should , especially as they ride on the roads and weave in and out of traffic.If one goes past and knocks off your mirror , are they not liable for the damage? .Now if this happens and they take off down a lane way how are you suppose to follow up on the damage caused?

    By all means, but would such a measure be cost-effective? I doubt it. Cyclists do far less damage to people and property than motorists do. Surely the money would be far better spent on improving police response to motorist lawbreaking.

    @ Mateforyou2001: cycling on the road is not illegal. In fact it's mandatory in most states. "Weaving in and out of traffic" is called "overtaking" and it too is legal for all road users. When a car mirror gets knocked off, it usually happens because the motorist was making an unsafe pass.

    Nope. The infrastructure involved would cost hundreds of millions.
