If your engine still runs, chances are it is good. If it drives, take it to an auto parts store that does complimentary scans. Taking it to the dealer costs money.

The car starts and the engine light goes out after 10 seconds.

You can also plug it into another near 2001 GM with the same engine, same TEST.

Since returned ECM/PCM's are failed in less than 1% of parts replacement, it is exponentially more likely for the PCM to still be good, than for it to be bad.

If the light works properly (assuming the bulb and wiring is good lol), it has passed it's internal test.

Ask the cost for a repair technician to just hook it up to the computer at your local dealer with no repairs just a printed readout.

You ask the question on what your actual problem is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which computer???? Hard to say, first you need to make sure you have power & ground to that computer, also need to make sure that another module isnt shorted internally & pulling the other modules down.
