On a rating of A-F how do you rate the ALCS between the Red-Sox- Tigers?

Congratulations to the 2013 AL Champion Red Sox.

    This is painful for me.

Tiger starting pitching gets an A-. Would have been an A+ except for Sanchez' second outing.

Tiger batting gets a D+ and the only good part was basically Victor Martinez.

Tiger fielding gets a D. There were stupid, stupid mistakes with a few stupendous plays thrown in.

Base running gets an F. Really? It's the ALCS, you are hurt and can't run even when you're aren't and you run through the stop sign and get called out at the plate? Not to mention the belly flop.

Bullpen gets a D. There were a couple of good innings but that's about it.

Leyland gets a C. My biggest objection was the Sunday night game when the bases were loaded and he didn't walk in a run to avoid batting to David Ortiz who was way over due.

And poor ole Prince Fielder gets an F. What the heck?

The Red Sox get an A. Except for the beards. They get an F-. Not cool to look like Neo Nazi Skinheads on TV dudes. And, I swear I saw something waving from Mike Napoli's beard.

Apparently this Grandma is way harder on the team than other Tiger fans.

Good luck to the Red Sox. I said I wouldn't root for them but clearly the better team won and it's time to stop the NL Reign. They've won four out of the last five.

LR, once they moved Austin Jackson way down in the line up he did great.

I had no real desire for one team or the other. But after that amazing 6-5 win in game 2 I couldn't see how the Red Sox would lose. I feel sorry for the Tiger fans but they can hold their head high in the great manner to which they fought for this title.

"A" - both teams simply put their best foot forward and as humans we all know errors will occur and then advantages of the same are taken.

Update: I liked the beards; watching the game last night around a fire pit for a spell with some of the local boys we all felt it was Stanley Cup Fever in the MLB. Rock on - rooting for the Red Sox in this one only because my 93 year old WW II Veteran friend is a life long Cardinals and Stan "The Man" Musial fan as Stan came from the next town over from him. Early days of WW II Stan was making more a month in per diem than my good friend was making in combat pay in the Battle for Guadalcanal. Gotta love these grunts as much one loves baseball. Can't wait to go to logger heads with this guy during this WS; he'll likely smack me with his cane at some point and I'll just end up calling him "sir". Semper Fidelis!

There's no way I would give it an A. It would have had to have gone 7 with Verlander on the mound win or lose.

    B. The series was extremely well played by the Red Sox, but not matched by the Tigers.

Although the Red Sox won in 6, I believe that the Tigers more lost the series with their pitching and fielding errors than it was for the Red Sox to win with superior hitting. While both teams are worthy of a meeting with the Cardinals, the series was more Detroit's to loose than it was for Boston to win.

The Sox didn't play to their potential and yet they still won in 6 games. That speaks volumes about how great team that is. You think Dustin Pedroia, David Ortiz, Jacoby Ellsbury, and Shane Victorino are going to bat .100 next round again? Realistically speaking, that won't happen. The law of averages wouldn't allow it. Some "fans" are quick to forget the Cardinals went 105-57 in '04, and they got swept. They had the likes of Albert Pujols, Jim Edmonds, Scott Rolen, Larry Walker, Edgar Renteria, and many more! Cardinal fans will see their downfall once more; for recent history will once again... repeat itself.

A+ The best ALCS since 2007.

Source(s): Bostonian. I may be a little prejudiced on this item.

For the overall series, I give it an A. Every game was exciting and pitching, for the most part, was terrific.

I give Serf Fielder, who seemed to get fatter every inning, and Austin Jackson Fs because their lack of production undoubtedly cost Detroit the series.

I give Boston a D for wearing those goofy beards.

I'm a fan of the Tigers, but they often disappoint. I'll remain a fan, and I don't know if it's old guard management, another reshuffling of their roster time, but they come on OK, build an impressive season, then at the end, often fold.

    B +

the grand slams in games two and six,

but misquues by the Tigers especially in game six cost them the series

    B+.

It was a great series and the better team won.

@Meerkat - The only one I can actually be hard on is Prince Fielder. He isn't doing his job at all and is costing us big time. I feel terrible for Torii Hunter.
