how do you collapse/expand the left navigation column?

It suddenly collapsed on me and I have no idea what I did to get it to do that. I have searched and searched and found only a reference to what the icons are when the column is collapsed but nothing about how to do that or reverse that so it's expanded. CRAZY!!

    Are you talking about yahoo Mail...? I guess so.

    The very first icon is the compose icon. Directly below is a small grey arrow point right, like this: >

    Click it.
