What college would be a good fit?
I'm a high school senior and I'm trying to figure out a school that fits my wants, but I'm having difficulty doing so because I'm unable to visit all of them. I'm a pretty good student; I have a cumulative GPA of 4.22 and I scored 1970 on the SAT (but I'm going to retake that). I'm also very social and love sports. I want to go to a school that's difficult to get into and has good academics that will prepare me for the work world, but it is also EXTREMELY important to me that I get a good college experience. I want to go to a school that also is very social and has a good, but not completely overbearing party scene, and also has a lot of school spirit and emphasis on athletics. Size doesn't matter too much, but I'd prefer it to be a medium sized school, so anywhere between 5,000-15,000. So far I'm looking at USC, UCLA, Duke, USD, Boston College, LMU, USD, Rice and Northwestern. I understand that these are some incredibly tough schools to get in to, but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions that fit my desires or if anyone knows anything good or bad about the colleges I listed above. Any help would be so amazing; I'm really getting stressed at this point!

What is your proposed major? That really is important in selecting a school.
Looks like you are in California? Is that correct?
Except for the CSUs, most schools will recalculate your GPA to include just academic courses and those on a 4.0 scale.

UC systems do not look at weighted GPA score (I'm sure your unweighted score is very good).
I am sure * any * university / college will be a good fit for you. I have family friends that did not get into one that they dreamed about, and ended up at another place. They all turned out well adjusted, and made life long friends.
Best wishes
p.s. If you are not from CA, UCLA will be quite expensive.
