Best Video Game Stories?

It’s great to see a gamer that appreciates story-centered games like the ones that you mentioned above. You’d be surprised how many people call themselves “gamers” and would prefer to play generic FPS games with absolutely no story than a character driven, story driven game, quality game.

Anyways, down to business! Here are some of the best games of this gen that have fabulous stories to go along with them:

- The Walking Dead a Telltale Games Series [A heart wrenching game that will have you making decisions until the very end; it’s hard to find games this good. The game is better than the show, in my honest opinion.]

- The Mass Effect Trilogy (A personal favorite) [This trilogy has everything you look for in a game series: great character development, emotional bonds, great action with a riveting storyline. It’s honestly one of my favorite trilogies of all time and I’d recommend it to any gamer who is looking for a game that will keep them hooked from the moment you start. You’ll love your teammates/squadmates more and more as the game progresses. Each game is better than the last.]

- Red Dead Redemption [A fantastic game with a great protagonist]

- The Wolf Among Us [A recently released game developed by the same people that made The Walking Dead, this game delivers in all aspects. It certainly exceeded my hopes after how amazing they did with The Walking Dead. Don’t let the comic book/cartoon graphics fool you, it has a great story]

- Assassin’s Creed (The Ezio Trilogy) [I hate what Assassin’s Creed is turning into with this “Pirates of the Caribbean” nonsense, but the Ezio Trilogy is definitely one of my most memorable gaming experiences. Great story.]

- Any Elder Scrolls game, Skyrim is fantastic [An open world game with amazing character customization that will keep you hooked for a massive amount of hours]

- Fallout 3 [Awesome story with the same open world feel and customization as Elder Scrolls.]

- L.A. Noire [Character driven, crime game]

- Uncharted series [another incredible PS Exclusive like the ones you mentioned above]

- Bioshock Infinite [I honestly think that this is the best Bioshock to date. Fu-mazing story also.]

- Brothers in Arms series [Although WW2 FPS games aren't really my kind of thing, any person who's interested in a historical game with a character driven plot, will enjoy this series.]

My favorite story in games is silent hill4 which killed the franchise because of its gameplay.

Gone home is a new game with an emotional story and its basically an interactive story.

The Stanley parable is an hilarious, unique game where you are told a story by the narrator but can choose not to do what he says and he gets angry. (Have to experience for yourself)

the walking dead games are excellent for your taste they both completely revolve around YOUR decisions. also the only reasons the games are good is because of the story. Try two worlds two its not a shooter but the main storyline is amazing, go mage you wont have to do sidequest any of the fallout games are good and try the devil may cry games. EXCEPTIONAL storyline. Especially number 4
