Pokemon XY Kanto Starters Question?
Lets say my friend who has Y version trades the starter I didn't choose. He also trades the Y item that makes the Mega Evolve with them. Will it work in my X version?
Bonus Question:
Later on in the game. IS there a way to get the other starters from Johto, Hoean, Sinnoh, and Unova??

The stone should work in your X version that will not be a problem. As for other starters, for certain you can get the other first gen starters, this has been confirmed. I'm not sure where, but I suspect that maybe Friend Safari might have something to do with it.
As for the others, so far, it seems like those would have to be traded into the game from other versions using the Poke Transporter and Poke Bank coming out in December.

Yes, the Mega Stone for Charizard Y will work in X.
Yes, there is but most of them would be in their middle forms but it's tied to the Friend Safari which means it would be tied to your friends on your 3DS Friend List. Each friend will be given a specific type and with that type will also come a maximum of 4 Pokémon... so basically getting a Friend with a Starter in the Friend Safari, it all comes down to luck.
