ive just updated it and it says searching where the signal should be. it had signal fine before and my signals just gone now ive updated to ios7

This sometimes happens. Just try resetting your network settings.
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
It won't delete any data except for your WiFi passwords. If it doesn't work try ejecting and reinserting your SIM card.
If nothing else works call AppleCare on 1300 321 456. Make sure you say what you have tried and that it is only since the iOS 7 update.
