My SD card works in my camera but not in my Laptop?

I just used my SD card in my laptops SD Card slot reader two days ago to import my pictures from the card to the computer and now all of a sudden when I put the card in the reader for my computer nothing pops up. The card is working fine in my camera but I get nothing when I insert it into the computer. I've uninstalled and re-installed drivers along with rebooting and still nothing pops up when I put the San Disk 8GB card in my dell laptop. I'm running Windows 7

    Hi Kevin,

I am Kaveri from the Dell Social Media Outreach team.

This seems to be a problem with the drivers. You can update the latest Card reader drivers from Dell support website to resolve this issue. Please find the link below for the same.

    Link:- http://dell.to/16dKcJN

    1) Enter the Service Tag and press submit button. ( You can find the service tag at the bottom of the laptop on white sticker, it’s a seven digit alphanumeric code which ends with BS or number 1.)

    2) Click on Drivers and Downloads.

    3) Choose the Operating system.

    4) Click Realtek card reader driver and download it.

In case of any further assistance Please feel free to contact me directly by sending a reply to this blog.

We would recommend you do not post your private information on a public forum.

    Thanks and regards,

    Kaveri D

That formatting in the computer may have fried your card. If you look at the back side of the card you'll notice several connectors. Each connector goes to a different circuit on the card. If one of those circuits has been corrupted then that's your problem. I'd recommend replacing the card and never, ever (emphasis on never) format an SD card in a computer, only in the camera.

There is really no driver per se for a memory card such as yours.

Since you already downloaded the photos to the computer already, try to format it (in camera), and see if it can be read by the computer again.
