How to sort Yahoo Mail inbox by sender?
Pretty simple. I used to be able to sort my inbox by sender. Now, since the forced upgrade to the new UI, I cannot.
I ** NEED ** this functionality. Searching my sender name is far too slow and labor intensive for what I want to do.
I know how to search, thank you. What I'm trying to do is sort by sender so I can move several dozen or more messages from a particular company to a particular folder, and searching is slow and inefficient (especially so since the new UI is so damn slow).
Reverting to basic does not restore this functionality.
Thanks, but I already have conversations turned off. Does not solve this problem.

i have found three ways to sort by sender.
One is, type their name into the search bar.
The second is, while the message list is displayed, hover over the message line. Part of the sender's name will be replaced with 3 icons, the first one - furthest to the left - will be a magnifying glass. Click the magnifying glass to display a list of emails from that Sender.
For the third option you will need to disable the Conversations feature. Conversations is when Yahoo groups or threads multiple emails together into one email. To disable this feature:
Hover over the gear icon in the upper-right corner
Select Settings
From the list on the left, select Viewing email
Locate Enable Conversations and uncheck the box to disable this feature
Click Save
After you do that, you can click View and a menu will appear with an option to Sort by Sender. View is located at the right side of the compose bar. Note: You must first disable the Conversations feature or nothing will happen when you click View.
Edit: Most times problems with Yahoo Mail it indicates a problem with your web browser, programs or computer issues. You can try switching to a different browser or update your current browser, enable or update JavaScript or download or update adobe flashplayer. Sometimes browser add-ons, plug-ins, ad-blockers, anti-virus or anti-malware programs or firewalls may interfere with Yahoo Mail or block features and functions of Yahoo Mail.

This actually worked. Go into Settings, then viewing email Then it says when viewing messages lists click off Enable conversations and then you will have the option to sort by sender when you hit save. Thank god. That was horrible not to sort by sender my emails are out of control and I cant delete them quick enough without sorting them by sender.

Try turning off Conversations as they are the worst thing on the new version. You cannot sort when Conversations are on. Hover over the Gear icon at the top right of the mail page, select Mail Options or Settings (which ever you have it seems to be different for some people). Then find the option for Conversations (either on the main page of options or on the Viewing Mail settings) and uncheck it.

Go to settings (the gear) and choose basic mail feature - this will allow you to sort by sender.

I can sort, no problem. I just can't move them. It says they're moving and shows a percentage, and then comes back up with all emails still in my in box.

I agree with B. Conversations is a waste and I find it best to turn it off. Sorting on all fields is a necessity in emails (IMHO)

You probably already figured this out but....
First: click on the "Gear", then click on "Settings" and un-check "enable conversations".
Then you can click on "View" above your email and click on Sort by Sender...

I miss it too. It's pretty dirty to take away functions and force you to pay for an upgrade version to get it back if it will.
