What song is this? Calling all music lovers?

It's probably from the 80s. A girl with a beautiful voice and great range is singing and the background sounds pretty electronic. You can't really understand the girl but the lyric that everyone remembers sounds something like "ohhhhhh, it was a clash" and I know that "clash" isn't the real lyric but it sounded like it. This song is VERY famous but I can't remember the name of it!
