In Texas, is it legal to conceal carry a pistol while on a motorcycle without a permit?

I know it is legal to have a gun hidden in your car, so would the same go for a motorcycle?

If you have a side bag or anything like that yes you can have it on your motorcycle. Because the law says that your VEHICLE is an extension of your home it does not differentiate between a car and motorcycle. The risk with this is if you leave your bike unattended and you have someone go through your bags then they could steal it and do damage and then thats a whole other issue.

My Suggestion: Get a concealed carry permit then you are not restricted to just your vehicle and can be confident your not breaking any laws.

That is a tough question and I honestly do not have the answer. I know you can carry a gun in your car (loaded) so long as it is not visible from outside the car and do that without a permit. If the law says vehicle rather than car or truck then it could apply to a motorcycle as well. Okay, I just found the wording on Wikipedia and it says a person may carry a loaded gun to a motor vehicle or watercraft so a Motorcycle being a motor vehicle I guess you can but I am not sure about it being on your person, You should check with THP I think and of course if you are a felon or otherwise prohibited from having a gun all of that still applies.

    Chandler is correct.

You can carry a loaded handgun on or about your person in your vehicle without a license IF:

1 it is your vehicle or a vehicle under your control

    2 it must be concealed

3 legally able to possess it

4 not committing any crime other than class c traffic, and

5 not a member of a street gang

"Motor vehicle" means a self-propelled vehicle or a vehicle that is propelled by electric power from overhead trolley wires. The term does not include an electric bicycle or an electric personal assistive mobility device, as defined by Section 551.201.

As long as it is not on your person and hidden from prying eyes. AOK. Same as a car or truck
