What type of class schedule does a sixth-grader have?

This is for a book I'm writing. What classes does a sixth grader in public school usually take, and how many different teachers does he have? Is there a "homeroom"?

    There is homeroom for the first couple of days of school, I had 8 teachers. Usually a sixth grader in my school would take Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Math, Art, Technology Education,World Language, and Physical Education.

    Usally there is a homeroom and 6th graders have 6 classes and they change the order everyday. This is what i had.

    i had 8 teachers in 6th its not much differnt in highschool
