i lost a very important powerpoint and i need it back...any advice?

the Microsoft power point said it saved but when i looked in my folder it wasn't there. i really need it back because it is due tomorrow at school ! can you help?

    Lost it? Check the trash folder... check teh recent folder under the powerpoint app file> recent should be listed at the bottom. Create a new bogus PP presentation and hit the file " save as" BUT before you click okay see where the default folder is. does it want to save to the desktop, my docs or some obscure location?

    the place it wants to save your new bogus PP is the most likely spot it saved your old file.

    Check for search, any file of type " *.ppt" modified in the last 2 days or whenever you last changed it. this search is "asterisk dot ppt " it will bring up all powerpoint files you have worked on within the specified time period.

    Assuming it just saved to a different folder:

    - Open Power Point and look to see where it's default save/open is by attempting either one from a blank presentation.

    - Alternatively, open my computer -> c:\ and search for the powerpoints from there. Use the below for your search fields:

    *.ppt

    *.pptx

    You may replace * with the name of the file you saved

    Otherwise, hope you have auto-save enabled:
