are there any other name for stiles ( a cross over on a fence or stone wall in england?

I'm writing a paper on names for common objects by country or county

    Not really.

    You get different forms eg ladder stile, squeeze stile.

    You also occasionally get a "mass path"

    A number are now being replace by kissing gates.

    Not that I know of, but they could be called "treads and risers".
