My e-mail was transferred to Yahoo! and I lost my Answers membership!?

I'm pissed! My e-mail carrier switched over to Yahoo!

As a result (I think) my Yahoo! Answers records were erased and I lost all of my record of authority1

I had about 30,000 points and was a recognized, reliable authority in several categories. :(

Update:

I could get to my access page OK...

But when I tried to sign in, I was unable to do so.

The response to entering my User name and password were that there was no such file...

This, in spite of the fact that Yahoo! Answers was already addressing me by name!

Update 2:

When I attempted to sign in, I was notified that MY user name was "available"

Provide details of what happened and why to Yahoo Answers Team at y_answrs_team@yahoo.com (missing "e" is deliberate). If you can provide links to your old profile OR to some of the content of it, that would help. Staff has been known to reopen a terminated YA account when it was closed due to no fault of the user, such as when they change providers or carriers. That's why you sometimes see people who have "earned" 30,000 points in a single week on the Leaderboard. That's normally a sign of a point transfer. HOWEVER, there are no guarantees, nor a specific timeframe that this will happen in. All you can do is ASK, and hope they do it. In the meantime, work on moving this account up the levels again.

To use Y!A you need a Yahoo account already.

If you were on Y!A, you would have been registered with a Yahoo account.
