I am looking for a New Born shopping cart cover?

I have given up looking on line. Perhaps I am typing my request in wrong.

I have a small 3 month old child that I care for. as of now when I shop he is in his car seat bucket and in the shopping cart. That takes a lot of space,

I have spent the evening typing into search various words such as, Infant shopping cart cover, or NEW BORN shopping seat cover.

No luck, it seems that I have to wait until the child is 6 months old at least to purchase a cover.

Are their any truly NEW BORN 0 to 3 months covers out there ? Thanks

The reason why there are no newborn shopping cart covers is that a newborn is not able to sit in a shopping cart seat. You can't rush development by buying a cover.

Once the baby IS able to sit up well with little support (and yes, that is often around 6 months, although I didn't put my son in the shopping cart seat until he could sit up UNassisted) you still don't actually need a cover.

The cover is just that: something germophobic parents use to COVER the seat so that the baby doesn't have to touch the cart. It's not a seat in itself and it doesn't provide support. I actually didn't even know these things existed until someone mentioned them on this site a few months ago, where I live nobody uses these things.

I don't understand - baby wouldn't be wearing the cover, so why are you buying by size?

Could you maybe post a link to what you're talking about?

As far as I'm concerned, either just buy a blanket to put over the baby cart seat (but again, you don't even have to do this). Or, if you cannot use a blanket because the harness straps stop a blanket from being able to be used, maybe try a baby sleep sack / sleeping bag. They are basically gowns that have a hole for the buckle to go through. You can buy them in OSFA, or they have them in every size.

Besides, there is no guarantee that a "shopping cart cover" that you buy will fit the cart at your store.

Or, just take some baby wipes, wipe the seat down, and that's that...

It seems to me you don't really understand what you want.

You can't put a newborn in the seat of a shopping trolley. They can't sit up, remember? What do you expect them to do, just flop around? Where I live, plenty of shops provide trolley's with a plastic attachment into which you can strap your newborn lying down. If they have these and you're terrified of your child touching something some other child touched (the horror of it!), then put a blanket down first. If they don't have these where you are, get yourself a bleedin' baby sling and carry them that way. You don't have to keep the poor child cramped in a car seat for hours while you go to the shops.

I don't think they even make one. We just lay our lil one down on the blanket in the bottom of the buggy. Car seat stays in the car. It's far healthier for baby to lay flat vs scrunched up in a car seat for too long. (we use convertible car seats, so no 'infant seat' for us to lay baby in.) I also baby wear, so sometimes I wear him on shopping trips.

Kids that young can't sit up on their own so you can either deal with the lack of space or start baby wearing.

im very sorry but to my knowledge there arnt any for babies that young they need to stay in their carseat in the basket until they are stable enough to sit by themselves in the basket i know it takes alot of room but its only for a while longer:)
