How do I pay for apps in the UK Google Play Store?
I know it's a stupid question but I can't seem to be able to do it. On my phone (Galaxy S4), when I try to purchase Nova Launcher Prime, I add my credit card details and it just says 'this payment method has been declined.' Now, I'm sure the card is fine so I went onto my PC to try and do it there and it just won't go through.
I did a search online and people have said Google Wallet, which is what's used to pay for apps, isn't available in the UK? But my card does show up as the default payment option. So, how am I supposed to pay for things in the Play Store?
Thanks.

Check your card details carefully, and if they're definitely correct call your card company. They might have declined the transacton thinint it's a fraudulant one but if you call them they can correct it.
When I started using the Google Play store my card company texted me to ensure the charges were legitimate.
It's been explained to me by my bank in the past that if someone gets hold of yiour card number and wants to use it frauduletnly, they first put through a whole bunch of small charges to test it's working before whacking on a big one. In that instance someone had got hold of my card number and had tried to charge a bunch of small bets (£1, £1.50 etc) with Ladbrokes online, then tried to buy a £400 TV with it. My bank clocked it and stopped it happening and called me. Now that companies know this is the process, many card companies decline small amounts like that if it is unusual activity. So you should give them a call.

You don't need google wallet to pay for things in the playstore. The problem isn't that you don't have a payment method google accepts because you do, you have a credit card and that's all you need. The problem is that when google tries to process the transaction your financial institution declines the transaction. You might have available funds but if you've never purchased from google before it could be triggering fraud protection. Discuss the issue with the card issuing financial institute for more details.

I have heard that Google Play has released gift cards. Not exactly sure what stores you have in the UK because I live in America, but where do you buy your iTunes card? Try asking them if they have any or where you can buy some, I'm sure they can help. Good luck!

call your credit card company and talk to them. Explain the problem and they can fix it for you.
