Does anybody else remember people saying the Lilly Ledbetter act would hurt women?

I remember a Republican saying when the Lilly Ledbetter act was being voted on that it would increase the cost of employing women, blacks and hispanics and thus decrease their ability to get a job. And the numbers keep getting worse for them. but of course no one listens to Republicans because all they do is lie, just ask President "You can keep your insurance" Obama.

Update:

There were already laws that dealt with sexism. The LLA was just to allow women who look back and decide that something that happened twenty years ago was in fact discrimination when they did not think so when it happened. This forces companies to have to keep records for far longer and to pay up just because no one really remembers what really happende back then. The original statute was limited was to prevent memory change that happens for all but a very few to cause someone to be convicted for something he did not do simply because he cannot remember what he did do and somebody else was convinced by others that he did.

If you think that this was needed then you are not really aware of the facts.

Women have had the right to use the EEOC for free to address income inequality for many years. The Lilly Ledbetter Act was completely unnecessary and add to that, they have to pay a lawyer to fight their case while the EEOC handles the entire thing at no charge. The Dems claim that there is a statute of limitations but that begins at the point of discovery, not from the date of the last pay check. The whole thing was a ruse.
