Bus From Waterford/Wexford To Ennis?

Bus Eireann requires two changes of bus (total 3 buses) to get from Wexford to Ennis making the shortest journey almost 5 hours http://journeyplanner.buseireann.ie/jp/bin/query.e... and just one bus change (2 buses, change at Limerick) to go from Waterford with the shortest journey 3 hours 40 minutes http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/answer?qid=20...

If you wanted your visit to the Cliffs of Moher to be a one-day journey and return to Waterford later the same day, it would be a 4 and three quarter hour journey, leaving Waterford at 07:40, arriving in Ennis 12:25 but there is an hour and a half wait at Limerick to change buses.

It would be possible to go by train from Waterford, but the time with just one train change arrives in Ennis at 21:04 so you would need to stay overnight. All other times require at least 2 trains http://journeyplanner.irishrail.ie/bin/query.exe/e...

Looking for private bus companies, I only found a company going from Waterford to Dublin and Ennis to Dublin, but the routes did not interact anywhere along the way.

There are buses direct from Galway to Cliffs of Moher, but getting from Waterford or Wexford seems to be only by Bus Eireann. http://getthere.ie/waterford-galway/ and http://getthere.ie/wexford-galway/

But Ennis is miles away from the cliffs?

Yes, of course there are buses. Look for Waterford to Limerick, then Limerick to Ennis. But you might find it better to look for a bus to either Liscannor or Doolin.

Get the bus to Ennis (might have to change in Limerick) and then on to Ennistimon. You could walk from there- it's a couple of miles - or get a taxi.
