Why aren't you allowed to bet the puck line and the over/under in NHL sports betting?

***OPINION: There is an inherent edge for the over/under bet on one side or another depending on whether the favorite covers or the underdog covers. Again, this is my opinion - I'm not 100% sure. For example, if a heavy favorite covers a -1 1/2 puck spread, it's much more likely to go OVER. If they don't cover, it's more likely to be UNDER.

If I'm right about that assumption, then it gives the player too much of an edge to parlay the two bets.

I believe there is the same restriction on football (American), baseball, and basketball, too.

well the puck line is the equivalent to a point spread basic line for NHL is a moneyline - all you do is pick the straight up winner usually a team is favored somewhere between -110 to as high as over -200 for good teams playing at home what a puckline does is the favorite has to win by 2 as ALL puck lines are -1.5 for the favorite or +1.5 for the underdog but what it does is it shifts a high favorite say -180 to now they are +140 on the puck line taking the +1.5 really there isnt a ton of value as you can go from +150 on the moneyline to -150 on the puck line now if they as underdogs win straight up you lose on the dog value, unless they lose by ONLY 1 goal you lost alot of juice taking the +1.5 so not the same thing - 2 separate bets, its a good way to turn a high priced home favorite into getting underdog value if you think they can win by 2, but giving up 1.5 goals on every bet is not a good long term strategy to winning hockey bets either. Picking your spots the puckline can be a good move, but overall you should stick to the moneyline and just hope the team your betting on wins the game. Good Luck
