How can we have free will if God knows everything?

If I "knew" you were going to ask a stupid question, this knowledge would not prevent you from doing so.
You are free to ask whatever questions you want to ask. You have "free will."
God is not confined to TIME and SPACE. God sees the past, the present, and the future all right now. Our tiny minds cannot grasp that idea. But don't let that inability distract you from the truth. And God says, "Your thoughts are not my thoughts." We do not have the mind of God.
The fact that God knows the future has no bearing on your free will.
Does that make sense?

Think of it like a security camera. People can go into a store and choose whether or not they will pay for an item even if they know a camera is present. Likewise God sees and knows everything, but He gives humans the choice whether to serve Him or not. But know this. Deuteronomy 30:19, 20 says, in part, " I have put life and death before you, the blessing and the curse; and you must choose life so that you may live, you and your descendants, by loving Jehovah your God, by listening to his voice, and by sticking to him..." I hope this answers your question.

I assume you're talking about the judo-Christian god which in that case when they say god is all knowing i find this means he sees all possible outcomes remember there are parts in the bible where god was surprised, disgusted, or angered by the sins that were caused. I also find that instead of knowing what you do before you do any thing he knows what you do right when you do it. Hope this helps if you have any more questions I recommend a religious official such as a Lutheran pastor

God know what Use you and I are going to Make Of Our "God-given Free Will" He does not Robotically Prevent us From Exercising it otherwise the opposite effect will take place. Robotically you would be like the computer screen we are writing on. No Free will

Your right god does know everything. And to answer your question I will define freewill to you. Freewill; For Man(Man meaning everyone women and men and etc.) to chose what they want to do in their will. Freewill is to choose to sin or to serve, love, and know god. It doesn't affect our free will if god knows everything. But we are held responsible if we do right things or wrong but people who don't know god are the ones that won't be held responsible (I am not quite sure of that but that's god's choice at the end of the day so do not assume or judge anyone life is there are going to heaven or hell or about their life in general). I hope answered on my behalf.

That's just it. God DOES know everything, but we don't. He's got the marbles BUT he does tell us to count on him, trust him. When we do, we know that he's got our back. That doesn't mean that we will not see hard times. It doesn't mean that we won't ever loose a loved one to illness or tragedy. It means he loves us and all things will work out in the long run.
Be patient. Love him. You'll see.

Simply put, we have free will. God is the illusion. If an all knowing omnipotent being existed then he would never have created man. It is reasonable to assume that a 'perfect' being would do a much better job with his creation than us. We have free will, end of. Theists will disagree, but you really cannot reason with those guys.

God does not know what you are going to do next but He can make a pretty good guess, like your mother.

If you're playing cards with a marked deck so your opponent knows your hand, that doesn't force your choices of which cards to keep or discard.

Allah Knows everything that will happen. The first thing that He created was the "pen" and He ordered the pen to write. The pen wrote until it had written everything that would happen. And then Allah began to create the universe. All of this was already known to Him before He created it. He does have absolute and total control at all times. There is nothing that happens except that He is in control of if.
There is a mistake in the question: "Free Will." Allah alone, has Free Will, He Wills whatever He likes and it will always happen as He wills. We have something called, "Free choice." The difference is that what Allah "Wills" always happens and what we choose may or may not happen. We are not being judged on the outcome of things, we are being judged on our choices. This means that at the core of everything will always be our intentions. Whatever we intended, is what we will have the reward for. Each person will be judged according to what Allah gave them to work with, how they used it and what they intended to do with it.
As regards the actual "Judgment Day" - Allah tells us that everything we are doing is being recorded and not a single tiny thing escapes from this record. Even an atom's weight of good will be seen on the Day of Judgment and even a single atom's weight of evil will be seen too.
The one who will bring the evidences against us will be ourselves. Our ears, tongue, eyes and all of our bodies will begin to testify against us in front of Allah on the Day of Judgment. None will be oppressed on that Day, none will be falsely accused.
He could have put everyone in their respective places from the very beginning, but the people would complain as to why they were thrown in Hell without being given a chance. This life is exactly that; a chance to prove to ourselves who we really are and what we would really do if we indeed had a free choice.
Allah Knows everything that will happen, but we don't. That is why the test is fair.
So don’t trust me—trust our Creator. Read the Quran, read books and study good websites. But whatever you do, get started, take it seriously, and pray for our Creator to guide you.
Your life may not depend on it, but your soul most definitely does.
