Submitted an appeal, said my account would be closed if it failed?
I've looked it up but am still unsure that it is only for those who have had an account suspension threatened. It did not list account suspension and that was definitely not what I appealed for. Does it mean anything at all? This is my first appeal.

It is an error that still has not been corrected. It belongs on the appeal for a suspension, not a violation.

No you will not be suspended unless you are appealing a suspension notice.
For whatever reason CC is sending out the wrong notice when some appeal by the link in the notice rather than using the alternate appeal link.
Been happening for about a month now, somehow it is depending on which appeal page you get in the violation.

No---well, most likely, no---you should be not be worried. That particularly message is supposed to designated for those who have an account suspension threatened.
However---based on what on other used have been commenting in the last month or so (note: today is November 14, 2013), Yahoo! Answers is seeming to use this particular message in their "automated response" to all--or almost all-- initial appeals---it is unknown is this is intentional or just a 'glitch" that gets caught up with the "automated process" or with the switch to the new format.
So, you should not NECESSARILY be worried.

I would like to see what is actually written as with my last violation it said I would loose 10 points if my appeal was wasn't accepted.
Perhaps the wording has been changed and I would then urge you to think twice about appealing unless you are certain you will win.

Many people complain about anything on here and many people have had their account closed, including me.What I didn't realise the first time I had an account closed is that you also lose your Yahoo e-mail account, so it's safest on Y!A to use a second account that you don't mind losing. Whether your appeal will succeed ,who knows, I think Yahoo just toss a coin to decide.

Trust me, none of the staff members that works for Yahoo really cares at all.
They just automatically assume that if you were reported, your Q&A must have something that was reportable when sometimes it really doesn't.
Sometimes it might have been reported by someone who either doesn't actually know the rules or takes the rules to such extreme extent that where they have absolutely no lives at all and must report everything that even hints on the possibility of breaking the rules when it didn't even matter if it was or not.
None of us can't do anything about it but I just wanted to wish you luck and hope someone in the Y!A department has enough brain cells to know some of our q&a's has been reported under stupid reasons by morons who shouldn't have access to the internet in the first place.
