Can i sue my college for a job scam i found through college career website?
i was a victim of a job scam and i lost a substantial amount of money, can i sue them at small claims court? i talked to the school already, they can only offer me a grant that covers my expense such as food and bus money. however, i over drafted my bank account because of this scam.

Unless there was some written notice that the school has verified that every job posted on the website has been vetted and verified to be legitimate, then you have no basis to sue. Normally if you read the T&C it will say something like they assume no responsibility for anything posted there. So read their Terms and Conditions then speak to a lawyer
Also, did you ever ASK a career counselor at the school if the job was legit or not? If they looked at it and told you it was legit, then you might have a suit

I do not believe that you have grounds for a lawsuit against your college. You probably have grounds for a lawsuit against the scammers, but not the school.
