Should I finish my core classes in Community College?

So here's the deal, I'm currently attending UNCW as a freshman, and I'm about to finish my first semester. I'm currently paying loans and I really do not like the idea of living life in debt after college. The economy sucks, and I also have no idea what to major in, or what my passion is in life. I feel like im paying money i don't have for an education with no direction. I don't want to take a break because I like learning and my brain being stimulated..I like college, I just don't know what I want to major in and until i find that, I won't be very motivated. Would it be wise to transfer to a community college after my second semester to finish my core classes and save up money? I have a best friend who I have lived with before over the summer in Texas, and during boarding school. I know how to live with him, and he already has an apartment so we could split rent. Then my plan is to basically live in Texas with my friend, finish my core classes in community college, become a resident of texas, and finish college in a decent four year university in Texas with instate tuition hopefully knowing what I want to major in by then. This will get hopefully allow me to not take as many loans, and maybe scholarships, and help pay for it wth th money i saved. This is also a guaranteed place to live. The other option is to just stay at UNCW, get pressured into a major to quickly, and spend money I don't have, to graduate in debt. This sounds like a good plan, but I need objections... what could go wrong? I just want to be safe before I execute this, and is this common? Help please!

CC is a fine idea, but not a Texas CC. The "residency clock" stops while you are in higher education.

Either move to Texas and work here for a year before you start classes or get your core classes at your local NC CC.

OR Come to Texas and enlist in the Texas National Guard. That way you get in-state tuition, plus you make a few bucks 1 weekend a month and also in the summer..
