Bugers with gherkin? Cooked?

When putting gherkins in Burgers, do they have to be cooked?

    No, if you are making home made burgers you add the gherkins with onions etc. into the minced meat uncooked.

    If you mean you're cooking burgers and putting gherkins on the bap then no they don't have to be cooked here either. The warmth from the burger does make them nicer

    I've read an article and it says that the meat should be ground and at room temperature to make them easier to cook. So, it should be cooked.

    It is a matter of preference, but uncooked is normal.

    Get them out early and slice them or what ever and leave in a bowl or plate to come up to room temperature.
