For this sentence make sense (in French)?

the sentence is:

Comme matières on étudierait l'anatomie parce que j'espère devenir un médicin.

I want to say that I will study anatomy because I want to be a doctor (don't know if un médicin is right for me if I'm female).

If it isn't right, then please could you correct? Thanks

    You could say this sentence quite simply like this:

    J'étudierai l'anatomie parce que j'espère devenir médecin.
