What to wear to friends bar mitzvah?
I'm a boy and I'm going to my friends bar mitvah. The service is at the synagogue and the party is a week later at Dave & Busters. What do I wear to each one?

Hi Sweetie. I have three sons. Each had a bar mitzvah. Wear a nice suit and no sneakers, black shiny shoes. Make sure your hair is nicely combed.
They will supply the yarmulke. If you have never been to a bar mitzvah before, sit further back, because you may need to leave for a few minutes (it's a long service).
As for the party; if it is just for his friends then you can wear a nice pair of jeans (no holes, and they must be clean), and a nice "plain" t-shirt, i.e. no slogans.
The party is just as important as the ceremony at the synagogue. I suggest asking your friend about the party. He will tell you what's the best thing to wear.
