Gain upper body strenght fast?

Hello, I am in the mddle of trying to join the military and I feel like I am lacking the upper body strenght I need, for the past month I have been doing atleast 150 push ups a day because I know that works most of upper body and I have seen improvement (I could only do 20 when I started but I can do 30 now) but I want to see more of an improvement, I will proably be leaving to tranning some time in the next 2 months, I don't have access to a gym ad because of my financial position at the moment I can not affored to eat very healthy (the only time I get to eat food thats relitivly healthy is at work) so should I just keep with what I am doing or should I change some things around?

Any thing helps

Thank you

Doing pushups does not work most of the upper body muscles... They only work the chest (pectorals) and triceps.

The military generally places a lot of emphasis on running and calisthenic exercises. You will be expected to do a lot of pushups, and they will likely have you doing a lot of chinups as well.

So, find yourself a crossbar somewhere to practice chinups on.

Most all basic training puts a lot of emphasis on running... Way back when I was in we started the first day with a mile before breakfast and went to 4-5 miles by the end of basic.

Check with your recruiter... See what kind of program your particular service uses. Also, talk with some serving soldiers in the types of unit you are interested. See what they did.
