Do you accept that ignorance is bliss?

This question is aimed towards intellectuals of India.

Only 10% of India's population lives in cities.

We try to lean so many modern things like computers, internet, advanced business techniques, personal communications techniques, management strategies, and many more.

The poeple in the villages never bother to know these things.

The seven-year itch: The Seven-Year Itch Experts observe

that this phase is often characterized by feelings

of restlessness and unhappiness over the state of

your union. "Over time, people can find themselves

drifting further and further apart and

communicating less,"

http://www.divorcereform.org/rates.html

The divorce rate in Indian cities is less than 1 %.

http://www.divorcemag.com/statistics/statsWorld.sh...

The divorce rate in Indian villages is less than 0.1 %.

What we in cities seek is happiness. What the people of villages

enjoy is bliss.

Isn't ignorance a bliss?

    Absolutely..the more you get the more you desire.

    Its simple human nature.

    Village people live a life of simplicity. Nevertheless they are very talented people..they just dont get chance.

    The aim to lead a peaceful life is to reduce to the maximum the external resources that we think is a must to live our life.

    The more we are able to reduce the more we'll be filled with bliss and ecstasy.

    For eg i am trying to stop my dependence on caffeine to refresh myself.

    I try to use maximum swadeshi(made in india) products to support our ever deteriorating economy.

    Also i have tried to reduce to the maximum.

    Thats Gandhian approach to life.

    I don't think so. Knowledge of the truth is empowering and provides more options available for advancing oneself out of a current or unfavorable situation. If find it unfortunate that India has a deep tradition as one of the most, if not, the most spiritually advanced societies mankind has known, yet the majority of their population is lives in massive poverty.

    However, I have great hope your people. The contry is in a period of change and modernization. In recent times underdeveloped countries develop at a much faster rate than nations of the past. There are growing pains to be expected during this period, which all societies have during times of radical change. Indian people pick up on things very quickly using their simple and direct logic without over complicating things. They have an opportunity to combine the rich tradition of spiritual knowledge along with modern materialistic knowledge. I pray that the Indian people do not do away with their spiritual traditions and replace it with the Western mentality. India can be the future as a new global power.

    I don't agree with you;

    It seems that you take a view of the villages while staying in a city; You have not stayed in villages for a good deal of time;

    I hail from a rural area; At present, I live in Mumbai, probably the largest and most charismatic city of India; I lived in villages for about a decade; And what I found was that villages were good to visit only once in a while;

    In any case, the villages are not fit to stay for a long time; If you stay there for a good deal of time, you will soon find that you are surrounded by primitive savages;

    All the political vibrations and modern gauche life-style of cities (such as eve-teasing, rape, etc) have already entered the villages too; And then, there are not many policemen around to seek help in case you face with the rascality of someone;

    Added to all this, the good features of cities such as suaveness, minding one's own business, etc are rarely learnt by village-dwellers; So, it makes the situation worse than that in cities;

    Beware!
