Would a plumber please advise me with regards to Gas Central Heating?

Please tell me where best to position a Heat-loss Radiator?

Should it be in the coldest part of the house, or somewhere else?

Are there factors I need to consider, like is it best that it is fitted upstairs, or down? Should it be near the thermostat? Is it best by the front door?

I can't find out where it is supposed to go! Perhaps it does not matter?

Could someone help please? x

Update:

Yes Bazza, but ideally, where the house should they be?

Maybe you mean an uncontrolled radiator i.e., one without thermostatic valves that acts as a by-pass for the boiler to dispose of excess heat. In this case it should be in the same room as the room thermostat.

If this is the first rad on your system that heats up when you run a lot of hot water then it should be a bathroom towel rail so as to heat the towel whilst you shower.

The by-pass rad usually ends up being in downstairs hallway and thermostat nearby.
