Why do people disapprove of boys playing with dolls and prams?
It makes me so angry when I hear old people say 'he shouldn't be pushing that dolls pram' and parents disapprove when they see a male child carry his doll.
No-one cares when girls like typically 'boyish' toys so why should they if boys like dolls, teddies, prams etc. It isn't gonna make him gay, and if he is gay who cares? It makes boys more nurturing/ caring and they are only copying their dad's at the end of the day.
What's everyone's opinions on this?

Because in society, there are two types of girls. Girly girls, and tomboys. And only ONE type of boy. Just a boy! I support kids playing with everything, and that toys are now genderized. Walk into a Walmart. Look into an isle! What do you see? First isle literally has everything that is only pink. The other has shades of brown, grays, blacks, and greens. They even made a GIRL version of Legos!!!!!! I agree with you, it's unfair that the media labels people as such, and that people should be able to play with whatever they want. Did you know, that Amish boys play with dolls just as the girls do? They really have no toys so it's the only one the boys can play with and they do have fun with it, and a lot of boys have fun with dolls too. They don't make a lot of male dolls, but there are some really cute boy Cabbage Patch Kids, if he prefers the boys, but it doesn't matter. I'm a girl and I've always preferred to play with girl dolls, but that's just me because I really want to have a daughter when I grow up (I'm fifteen). I personally know a little boy and he plays with dolls.
A lot of boys like crashing toy cars into things, building things and knocking it down, catching bugs, etc. but he likes caring for a doll which shows he has a gentle nature and that's very good. I vote that people shouldn't generize people and toys and that anybody can play with anything!

We are told by society what is and is not socially acceptable. Boys playing with 'female toys' is not socially acceptable. Not too many parents enforce that a boy will become gay if he plays with 'female toys'. But parents also do not say it is acceptable for a boy to do so. So when a school-age male child prefers 'female toys' his classmates make fun of him, because those children were never told that it is an acceptable behavior.

Agree with you. I wasn't thinking gay, nothing to do with that. People put labels on things meaninglessy. I was thinking a mothering act and it'll teach boys to be more caring if anything. People should stop living by stereotypes. It's encouraged to girls because of the 'mother' role they are eventually expected to play.
